Problem

WordPress, headless, Webflow? Which one?

Platform decisions often go to whoever pitches hardest. Without a written list of what the site has to do for the next three years, every vendor sounds right.

This is for you if…

Recognise two of these? Let’s talk
  • Every vendor we talk to recommends their own platform
  • We can’t tell if we should rebuild or repair what we have
  • Nobody has written down what the site has to do
  • We’re about to sign a multi-year contract based on a sales pitch
The diagnosis

Why this happens.

Platform decisions often go to whoever pitches hardest. Without a written list of what the site has to do for the next three years, every vendor sounds right.

What not to do

[YOU]: the most expensive platform-decision mistake you have seen a client make before calling you.

How I’d approach it

I write down what your site has to do, score WordPress, headless and the other options against that list, and give you a written recommendation you can show any agency.

Where I’ve done this.

Real projects, named

Memmert: wrote a requirements spec for 3 portals before a line of code was written. FireMud FM: led a Zend-to-WordPress platform migration

Decision Sprint

WordPress, headless or Webflow? Rebuild or repair? Which agency? I compare the options against what your site has to do, and give you a written recommendation.

Questions I get.

Short answers, straight from me
How do you decide between WordPress, headless and Webflow?

I write down what the site has to do for your team and your visitors, then score each platform against that list.

Will you recommend a platform you don’t use yourself?

Yes. The recommendation follows your requirements. I don’t build the result, so I gain nothing from any one platform.

How long does a Decision Sprint take?

About 2 weeks, ending with a written recommendation you can hand to your board or your next agency.

Do you also decide rebuild vs repair?

Yes. Often that’s the question behind the platform question. For Memmert I wrote the requirements for three portals before anyone picked a stack.
