Problem

We have no tech leadership / don’t trust our agency

A growing company needs someone who can say no to a vendor, review code and own a roadmap years before it can pay a full-time CTO.

This is for you if…

Recognise two of these? Let’s talk
  • Nobody senior owns our tech decisions
  • Our agency says yes to everything and we can’t tell if that’s good
  • Every vendor meeting needs someone technical in the room, and we don’t have one
  • We’re about to hire, and don’t know what to ask for
The diagnosis

Why this happens.

A growing company needs someone who can say no to a vendor, review code and own a roadmap years before it can pay a full-time CTO.

What not to do

[YOU]: the most expensive mistake you have seen a client make before hiring a fractional CTO.

How I’d approach it

I come in a few days a month. We agree on one roadmap, I review your agencies and their code, help you hire, and answer for the tech decisions. I’m not selling you build hours.

Where I’ve done this.

Real projects, named

Vegconomist: fractional CTO since 2024, tech debt cleaned up across 3 language sites. Leverage Edu: 8 WordPress sites merged into one, 8× infrastructure saving. Bears With Benefits: introduced Scrum for a US launch. Plus a bank I can’t name

The offer.

A few days a month

Fractional CTO

Your tech lead, a few days a month: roadmap, vendor reviews, hiring and someone who can say no.

Questions I get.

Short answers, straight from me
What does a fractional CTO do?

Owns the tech roadmap, reviews vendors and code, makes build-or-buy calls and speaks for you in technical meetings. A few days a month, without a full-time salary.

How is this different from hiring an agency?

An agency builds what you ask for. I work for you, review what the agency delivers and say no when something is wrong.

How many days a month is typical?

For most clients, two to four days. We set it together and change it when your needs change.

Can you work alongside our existing agency?

Yes, that’s common. I review and direct the work, and your agency or in-house team builds it.
